Adopting a Golden Honey Kennel puppy is a big commitment, and we want to work with your family to ensure that you are confident moving forward with adding a puppy to your family. Either with an email or a phone call, it all starts with when you reach out to us! Which leads to our family getting to know yours and your family getting to know us. Once you have decided to add a Golden Honey puppy to your family, we will have you fill out our Adoption Application and once approved, submit a non-refundable application fee of $300 which will be deducted from the purchase price of your puppy. Please note, Golden Honey Kennel does not reserve by gender or guarantee color.

Approved applicants who have submitted their deposit will be notified of litter confirmation as well as when the litter has successfully whelped. After the litter has whelped, we will email you our Puppy Purchase Agreement & Health Guarantee. This contract includes your payment plan, terms & conditions of purchase and health guarantee. The signed agreement and 1/2 the total balance(minus the application fee) are due by the litters 3 week birthday (or immediately if the litter is over 3 weeks old). The remaining balance is due on or before Homecoming Day. Payment can be made by Venmo, cash or cashier's check.

The inability to make payments on time will result in your reservation spot being removed from the reservation list. We understand that life doesn't always go as planned, but unfortunately, we are unable to hold your puppy reservation longer than 3 days after a past-due payment if evidence of payment is given. If hardship should occur and you become unable to purchase the puppy, we are willing to work with you on moving your reservation (and current balance) to a later litter. However, given that we are a very small private breeder, it could be six months to a year or more before another litter is available to choose from. Please keep us in the loop as we are willing to work with you.

Puppy selection is based on your position on the Adoption Reservation list and is done between 6 and 7 weeks. The Adoption Reservation list determined as follows:

Golden Honey Kennel reserves two spots for our future breeding prospects. We do not always pick two and if we do not, you will move up the list at the time of puppy selection.

Selection order is based on the date Approved Applications and Deposits are received. Each family will be scheduled for a Selection Appointment. During this appointment, they will have the opportunity to visit with the puppies that have not been selected and make their decision. We will be updating Facebook and our website regularly with pictures, videos and updates so all families on the Adoption Reservation list will have the opportunity to get to know the puppies during their first 7 weeks!

We also welcome and encourage families on our Adoption Reservation list to visit the puppies before their selection appointment. This will give you a good sense of the puppies personalities as well as giving the puppies an opportunity to get to know you! Puppy visits start when the puppies are approximately 3 weeks old and their mama is settled down and ready to receive visitors. When coming to visit Golden Honey Kennel, only family of the human kind can come! While you might have other pets that are looking forward to the new puppy as well, protection of the puppies must come first! So no outside animals are allowed on the premises at all!

Golden Honey Kennel cannot guarantee color, size or gender or personality. If you have specific requirements and are unable to select a puppy based on these specific requirements, we will give you the opportunity to move your balance to a future litter. However, given that we are a very small private breeder, it could be six months to a year or more before another litter is available to choose from.

Homecoming is at 8-9 weeks of age. Each family will be scheduled for a Homecoming Appointment where you will have time to enjoy playing with your new puppy one on one, spend time with us asking questions, discuss next steps and talk about what to expect when you get home! Final payment will be expected prior to or at the Homecoming Appointment. Once your appointment is scheduled, it is important to keep to the schedule and to be on time, if not a bit early! We will have other families scheduled to take their puppy home and if you are more than 15 minutes late with an appointment that follows yours, you will be required to reschedule. We will not rush your appointment or the appointment for the other families, it is in the best interest of both the family and the puppy that ample time be given to allow a smooth and relaxed transition. You can also have peace of mind knowing that each Golden Honey Kennel puppy comes with:

Puppies need to be in their new home by 9 weeks of age. If you know that you will not be able to pick up your puppy by that required date, you will need to let us know as soon as possible due to the need to arrange for the next round of shots and any other additional veterinarian care that might be needed as well as to arrange for pet care should we be unavailable. We understand that mother nature controls when the puppies are born and thus the day they are ready to go home! So, there are times when the homecoming date just doesn't work for the new family. We will work with you and only pass on costs/fees we incur ourselves during your puppy's extended stay (veterinarian for shots/deworming/etc., pet care should we have plans ourselves, etc.) and all costs will be discussed when we make the initial extended care arrangements. We will not keep a puppy past 10 weeks of age without extreme extenuating circumstances and additional charges may apply.

We do not ship puppies, EVER. If your puppy must be delivered to you, we will be willing to discuss alternative methods such as arranging for pickup and drop-off to/from the Atlanta airport (free of charge :D ), meeting you within a 3 hr drive from Duluth, GA (.50/mile convenience charge), or if you have a creative idea just let us know!

If you want to move your reservation for whatever reason to a later litter, you may do so for up to 3 litters. Your spot on the next reservation list may change if you choose to move. If you have any other questions about the process of adopting a Golden Honey Kennel puppy feel free to contact us! However, given that we are a very small private breeder, it could be six months to a year or more before another litter is available to choose from.
