HOW TO APPLY

Adopting a Golden Honey puppy is a big commitment, and we want to work with your family to ensure that you are confident moving forward with adding a puppy to your family. Either with an email or a phone call, it all starts with when you reach out to us! You will be sent a link to our online application. Filling out an application helps us get to know what you are looking for and how a Golden Honey puppy will fit into your family. Once we have received your application, you will be notified when a litter that will match your request is planned and when you should expect to be contacted to setup an interview. If all goes well and the application is approved, a non-refundable deposit of $500 will be required to reserve a puppy. This deposit will be deducted from the purchase price of your puppy. Golden Honey does not reserve by gender or guarantee color, size, gender or personality.

Please note: Deposit is non-refundable. Golden Honey offers no guarantees, either stated or implied, as to color, size, gender or personality of the puppies.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE

Approved applicants who have submitted their deposit will be notified of litter confirmation as well as
when the litter has successfully whelped. After the litter has whelped:

At One Week - The Golden Honey Agreement contract will be emailed to you for your review. This contract details your payment plan, terms & conditions of purchase and health guarantee.

At Three Weeks - The non-refundable cash only payment of one-half of the total balance due must be paid in order to retain your litter reservation.

At Homecoming Appointment - The Golden Honey Agreement contract will be presented for signature and final cash payment of remaining balance must be made.

The inability to make payments on time will result in your reservation being removed from the reservation list. We understand that life doesn't always go as planned, but unfortunately, we are unable to hold your puppy reservation longer than five days after a past-due payment. If hardship should occur and you become unable to purchase the puppy, we are willing to work with you on moving your reservation (and current balance) to a later litter. However, given that we are a very small private breeder, it could be six months to a year or more before another litter is available to choose from. Please keep us in the loop as we are willing to work with you.

GETTING TO KNOW THE PUPPIES

Once the puppies are old enough and the Momma is ready, we encourage our Families to visit the puppies! It is an amazing experience to see these little pups growing so fast and watching their little abilities and personalities develop!

During this time, two very important things happen: (1) You have the opportunity to get to know all the puppies as well as have one on one time with us to ask questions and provide insight into which puppies fit your family, (2) the puppies are getting to know YOU! They learn your smell, your voice, and your mannerisms. So, when it is time to go home with you, you are no stranger to them! They are excited to hop in the car with you because you are a familiar part of their family! Someone they have spent lots of time playing with.

When coming to visit Golden Honey, only family of the human kind can come! While you might have other pets that are looking forward to the new puppy as well, protection of the puppies must come first! So, no outside animals are allowed on the premises at all!

We will also be updating Facebook regularly with pictures, videos and updates so all families on the Adoption Reservation list will have the opportunity to get to know the puppies during their time at Golden Honey!

PUPPY SELECTIONS

Puppy selections are made by Golden Honey working intimately with each family to determine which puppy is the absolute best fit.  When the puppies are seven weeks of age, families are notified which puppy will be theirs!

Golden Honey cannot guarantee color, size, gender or personality. If you have specific requirements and are unable to select a puppy based on these specific requirements, we will give you the opportunity to move your balance to a future litter. However, given that we are a very small private breeder, it could be six months to a year or more before another litter is available to choose from.

BRINGING HOME YOUR PUPPY

Homecoming is at 8-9 weeks of age. Each family will be scheduled for a Homecoming Appointment where you will have time to enjoy playing with your new puppy one on one, spend time with us asking questions, discuss next steps and talk about what to expect when you get home! Final Cash only payment will be expected prior to or at the Homecoming Appointment.

Once your appointment is scheduled, it is important to keep to the schedule and to be on time, if not a bit early! We will have other families scheduled to take their puppy home and if you are more than 15 minutes late with an appointment that follows yours, you will be required to reschedule. We will not rush your appointment or the appointment for the other families, it is in the best interest of both the family and the puppy that ample time be given to allow a smooth and relaxed transition. You can also have peace of mind knowing that each Golden Honey puppy comes with:

2 Year Health Warranty
Veterinarian Signed Health Certificate
1st Round of Shots
De-Worming at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age

Puppies need to be in their new home by 9 weeks of age. If you know that you will not be able to pick up your puppy by that required date, you will need to let us know as soon as possible due to the need to arrange for the next round of shots and any other additional veterinarian care that might be needed as well as to arrange for pet care should we be unavailable. We understand that mother nature controls when the puppies are born and thus the day they are ready to go home! So, there are times when the homecoming date just doesn't work for the new family. We will try to work with you if possible. The cost for an extended stay is $50 per day plus any costs/fees we incur ourselves during your puppy's extended stay (veterinarian for shots/deworming/etc., pet care should we have plans ourselves, etc.), all costs will be discussed when we make the initial extended care arrangements. We will not keep a puppy past 10 weeks of age without extreme extenuating circumstances and additional charges may apply.

We do not ship puppies, EVER. If your puppy must be delivered to you, we will be willing to discuss alternative methods such as arranging for pickup and drop-off to/from the Atlanta airport ($50 each way), meeting you within a 2 hour drive from Duluth, GA ($1.00/mile convenience charge), or if you have a creative idea just let us know!

MOVING YOUR RESERVATION

If you want to move your reservation for whatever reason to a later litter, you may do so for up to three litters. However, given that we are a very small private breeder, it could be six months to a year between available litters.

If you have any other questions about the process of adopting a Golden Honey puppy, feel free to contact us!
